Using Google ads is one of the most popular ways monetize any website, even Joomla. But sometimes pasting ad code into modules gets to be tiresome. There's got to be an easier way, right?
The answer, for those running sites part time, or running many sites limiting administration time on any one site, is a solution that gets Google ads up and running quickly and with a minimum of fuss.
One of the best solutions we've seen is Google AdSense "ClickSafe" by Joomlaspan. It's a free module available for both Joomla 1.0 and 1.5 that makes it a snap to integrate Google ads into your Joomla site.
According to the developer, the current version of the module is "100 percent compatible with Google AdSense Policy" and is "100 percent configurable."
We can attest to both ease of use and the ability to configure the module. Whether using text ads or text/link ads, the module is a breeze to configure. Just select your preferred ad format, choose a module position in your template, and publish the module. It's that simple. But don't forget your Google publisher ID if you want Google to track your ad's performance.
The module installs easily, and using it you can publish as many copies to a page as you wish. Be mindful, though, of Google's policy on the number of ads per page: Up to three ad units on each page, and up to three link units on each page.
